Burdastyle Sewing Handbook - Blouse
I've bought a few sewing books lately. Since I started teaching adult sewing lessons for the Waterford V.E.C, I often get asked to recommend some good books for beginners/improvers.
The Burdastyle Handbook is one that I picked up recently - lots of great insrtuctions, with all the pattern pieces included. I couldn't resist making up the blouse that features in the book (see my version above)
The bit I like most is the picture gallery at the end of each project (see picture below), showing lots of variations made by Burdastyle.com members. People often find it difficult to see the potential a pattern can have, so it's a good way to look beyond the original pattern, and make it into something more suitable to your own personal style.
